What is published and what is blocked
The primary author slots are published: role and scope, name, credentials and biography. His photograph is blocked, and the specialist reviewer slots are blocked pending approval, because a name, a credential and a biography belong to a person and are added only once that person has approved their own entry. No invented identity appears anywhere on this site, and no placeholder stands in for one.

Gavin Meiring leads research and is the primary author on solved.tools. He holds Masters degrees in International Trade and Business Administration and is a Doctoral Candidate in Corporate Governance.
He brings a financial services and offshore banking background, having worked with international brands including Standard Bank, Old Mutual International, Sanlam and the Virgin Group. He has a particular interest in using technology to drive business growth and create value for clients.
His academic work in corporate governance shapes the method notes on the money and investment pages. Assumptions are stated, sources are named, and every worked example can be reproduced from the inputs given. The same work informs how the site applies corporate citizenship, ESG and CSR principles to its editorial standards.
He is assisted by a research team at DigiBiz, a technology services company based in South Africa. The team handles source retrieval, figure checking and the annual re-check schedule set out in the review policy below.

Editorial and review policy
Gavin Meiring leads research and holds final editorial sign-off. Every tool page is checked before publication and re-checked at least once a year and again after any change to a formula, a default or a published figure.
Every calculator page on solved.tools is checked before publication and reviewed again on a schedule. This page states who does the checking, what they check, and how to get a correction made.
What gets checked before publication
The formula the tool implements, the units and defaults it assumes, a worked example with real numbers, and the sources named on the page. A page does not go live until a reviewer has reproduced the worked example from the inputs.
Who reviews

Each subject area also has a named specialist reviewer: money and investment, health and fitness, maths and statistics, and technical and engineering. The reviewer for a category signs off its pages. Specialist names are published here once that person has confirmed their own entry, and not before.
Review cadence
Every tool page is re-checked at least once a year, and immediately after any change to the formula, the defaults or the underlying source data. Pages that cite a figure which changes each year, such as a contribution limit or a rate threshold, are re-checked when that figure is published.
Corrections
Send a correction to hello@solved.tools with the page address and the number you believe is wrong. A verified correction is made within five working days and the page records the change date. Corrections are published as corrections, not folded in silently.
How these pages are written
Drafting is assisted by software, and every page is then edited by a person and checked against the sources named on it. Every page also passes an automated writing-standard gate that rejects machine-sounding prose, filler phrasing and typographic tells before it can be published. No page is published on the strength of a generated draft alone. The worked examples are calculated, not estimated, so a reader can reproduce each figure.
What the tools are not
The calculators give estimates for planning and study. They are not financial, medical, legal or tax advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
